IP Cameras & Video Surveillance CCTV

by | Sep 2, 2018

INTRODUCTION

IP Surveillance/Video systems (CCTV) allows you to detect and document intrusions as well as monitor business processes. The cost of replacing stolen goods, and the potential business hours lost as a result, can cause significant damage to a business. Clients can access their systems remotely from an app or browser even while aboard for they are setup to connect to the internet.

Our experienced security camera installation team is comprised of local security camera installers who are BOTH software and hardware engineers, and they are experts in the field. BRANDS: HIKVISION, DAHUA, AXIS, BOSCH.

Benifits over Analog Systems

  1. Image Resolution – They can record at a higher resolution. This means zooming in won’t create a blurry image, but can create a very clear one. All analog video cameras use the NTSC analog video standard, which was created in the 1950s.
  2. Scalability – An analog system limits you to the number of cameras you can hook up to a single DVR. IP camera CCTV uses a network video recorder (NVR). This runs each camera in a certain range to a single switch. This switch can then run back to the NVR, saving substantially on cabling, installation, and maintenance costs. You can even use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to use certain types of signal cables to provide power to the cameras as well. This covers the power supply for the cameras.
  3. Ease of Installation –  Many find it hard to believe but at this point IP video security systems are actually quite easy to install. Today, most IP cameras are actually plug-and-play, the same way your computer’s webcams are. In addition, the cabling is easier as well.
  4. Analytics – A digital video recorder (DVR) on an analogue system can’t highlight events and save these out. To find a specific moment, you’ll have to play through all the footage until you find it. For security events that may happen overnight, that means scrubbing through hours of footage. An IP system can highlight or flag events for you based on specific parameters. These can include motion detection, tampering with the camera, and a range of other events

There are two or three main types of multi-use CCTV camera on the market today. They are the bullet/barrel type of camera, vandal dome camera and eyeball/turret camera, here we list some of the pros and cons of each and ideal mounting locations.

NOTE: THAT THERE ARE PTZ CAMERAS IN THE HIGHER END MARKET THAT WE ALSO OFFER.

Bullet cameras

Pros

Great for mounting outdoors on walls, where exposed to the elements due to the sun shield.

They also come in full size which provide a more obvious visual detterent.

Easy to adjust giving more flexibility when setting up your security system.

Cons

Can be easily compromised at night due to spiders depending upon the location. They can also be moved by people if they are within reach.

Dome cameras

Pros

Ideal for mounting low down within reach of potential vandals such as under garage eaves/porches and doorways; lockable screws mean they cannot be pushed aside and the covers are replaceable.

A great subtle choice for both outdoor and indoor use as these are great for horizontal mounting (although not limited to unless of the hiwatch range).

Cons

The glass bubble if wet/dirty can cause IR to bounce back at night clouding the image so they should be sheltered ideally for external use or at least on a bracket so they are still facing down.

Turret Dome/Eyeball Cameras

Pros

A great all around choice and perfect for mounting under eaves higher up or just out of reach.

Easy to adjust.

No problem with spiders or IR bounce back.

Cons

Not vandal proof so they can be compromised by people moving them about.

They provide less weather protection than bullets.

Monitor the Perimeter of Your Property.

A great way to deter trespassers is to mount outdoor security cameras to your home’s exterior, and keep them aimed at the perimeter of your property. Combining several cameras can give you a nearly 360° view of your property line, and are an excellent way to keep an eye out for unwanted visitors in real time, or provide you with playback surveillance footage in the event of a robbery.

Nanny Cams for Child Protection

Nothing is more valuable than your children, so it can be tough to rest easy about their care when you leave them at home with outside babysitters and nannies. One way to find peace of mind, and get a firsthand look at how your kids are treated when you’re not there, is to invest in a “nanny cam,” a small concealed camera that’s disguised to look like an ordinary household object. These hidden cameras are ideal for capturing child/caretaker interactions, and let you view in real time or play back later.

Keep an Eye on your Garage

Despite the fact that they’re generally far easier to break into than other buildings and often house expensive vehicles and equipment, home garages tend be security deficient. Not to mention that they’re often left wide open with their contents in full view of passersby.

Cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs and high-end power tools can become extremely tempting to potential thieves, so protect them with more than a rolling garage door or lock and key. Installing a visible but out of reach remote-access security camera lets unauthorized visitors know that they’re being watched, and enables you to check up on your valuables even when you’re on the road.

Monitor Points of Entry to Prevent Theft.

Bad guys don’t always use the front door when trying to get into your home, so be sure not to ignore potential entry points like windows, French doors and basement doors. While it’s by no means necessary to mount a surveillance camera near every single access point, it’s not a bad idea to have an extra pair of eyes watching windows and doors that aren’t visible to neighbors, can’t be seen from the street, or are hidden by trees, tall hedges, or other visual obstructions.

Make Your Own Video Baby Monitor

Standard audio baby monitors are great, but if you need to work or relax in another room and don’t want to get up to investigate every time your sleeping baby makes a peep, it’s time to set up a video baby monitor that transmits both sounds and images.

They’re simple to put together: just install a CCTV video camera next to or above your baby’s crib, and have it broadcast audio and video to a monitor in the room(s) of your choosing. That way, when you hear a baby-related noise, you can just glance at the monitor to decide whether or not you need to check in person.

Protect Your Home Office

If you run a business out of your home, chances are you have work equipment, money and inventory on premises. A security camera can not only help prevent the theft of work-related valuables, but can also multitask by monitoring employees, clients and vendors who come in and out of your home throughout the business day.

Watch the pool and play areas from indoors

Even though they’re more independent and can show better judgement than very young children, older kids still need outdoor supervision, especially if there’s a swimming pool or large playground equipment nearby. Even if you need to step indoors for a few minutes, you can still keep a protective eye on your children by installing closed-circuit cameras near your swimming pool or outdoor play area to alert you to any falls, fall-ins, or other playtime mishaps.
